Hi, I'm Daria
Hi, I’m Daria! A Chicago-based hairstylist, tight curl specialist, and makeup artist. I’m also the founder of Colour Theory Beauty, a boutique hair and makeup studio. My childhood fascination for beauty products has blossomed into a dream realized by creating stories through hair and makeup for 20 years. My makeup artistry has been featured on major motion pictures such as “Candyman,” and the Broadway hit “Wicked.” Hair styling on Showtime’s “The Chi,” the Paris Opera Ballet, and the Royal Ballet of London. Additionally, I’ve contributed to national television commercials and New York Fashion Week.
I’m inspired by travel, music, culture, the art + science of creating harmony through color, and nature. Learning new techniques in beauty, the French language, cooking, and baking are other ways that I stay creatively fueled. I love being around everybody, and everything that makes me feel my very best.

She asked for reference pictures of haircuts I liked in advance as well as a description of my hair care routine. When I got into the salon, she was super patient and listened to all of the concerns I had along with the type of shape I wanted. She walked me through the different steps we took while styling my hair, educated me about the wash and go I was getting, and then proceeded to show me every step while cutting my hair.
She was super personable, made me feel very comfortable, and is extremely educated about natural hair care. Would 10000% recommend and am looking forward to going back for another cut in the future.

Come with hair that’s been detangled within the last 3 days. Detangling is normally included, but excessive detangling will incur a $65 fee. If you’re coming for makeup, please arrive with a clean, makeup-free face.

To extend the life of your wash and go, I’ll recommend the right products for your hair type and show you the best techniques for maintenance. If you’re experiencing issues with your routine, we can go over them during your appointment and create a personalized plan.
3. How do I address my alopecia conditions?
Alopecia conditions require specialized care. During your appointment, we’ll discuss your specific needs and concerns, and I can even recommend a trusted dermatologist if needed. Together, we can create a plan that helps you feel confident and comfortable with your hair.
4. Will a silk press give me heat damage?
A silk press can be done safely with the right techniques and products. At Colour Theory Beauty, I take great care in protecting your hair from heat damage by using quality tools, heat protectants, and appropriate temperature settings. We’ll also assess your hair’s condition to determine if a silk press is right for you.
5. Which haircut shape is best for me?
Choosing the right haircut depends on your face shape, curl pattern, and personal style. During your appointment, I’ll work with you to find the best shape that complements your features while keeping your curls looking defined and healthy.
6. How should I wrap my hair up at night?
To preserve your curls and maintain the shape of your style, wrap your hair in a silk or satin scarf or use a satin pillowcase. I also have a special method for wrapping hair that helps keep your curls elongated. I’ll be happy to show you during your appointment!

FFor color services, please arrive with clean, stretched hair and wear an old shirt that you don’t mind getting a little messy. While I take every precaution to protect your clothes, it’s best to avoid anything too fancy underneath.
